Siemens joins the CERN openlab as sponsor
1st September 2008

CERN

The purpose of the joint project between CERN and Siemens is to carry out research and development in the field of industrial controls.

The project will initially focus on the improvement of the security of the Programmable Logic controllers (PLC), on the opening of the Supervision Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) and PLC software to common software practices and on the development of solutions for the software deployment in large scale installation.

The Siemens and CERN contact persons for the project will be respectively Dr. Thomas HAHN and Mr. Renaud BARILLERE.

At CERN, in addition to the openlab Unit, the project will involve the IT-Controls (CO) Group.
