openlab Presentation at After-C5

F.Fluckiger will first briefly explain the overall concept of the openlab framework which was initiated in 2001 as collaboration between CERN and industry.
S. Jarp will describe the "opencluster", which is the first project realized inside the openlab framework. This cluster is being built with leading-edge technologies which may play a key role in the IT industry by 2006-07 when CERN and its HEP partners have to have a completed LHC Computing Grid. He will give an overview of the hardware and software components currently in use, describe the current situation as well as the future phases of this three-year project. As a prelude, S.Jarp will also give a short description of the "Gelato" collaboration.
