CERN openlab held its 8th Major
Review meeting on 28th January. In the morning, we had four technical presentations given by six team members who
covered the work done in openlab since the last September Major
Review Meeting:

The
first talk
focused on the Automation and Controls
Competence Centre.
Daniel Rodrigues
presented the updates on PVSS while
Filippo Tilaro
spoke about PLCs Security and
Omer Khalid
covered STEP7.

Carlos
Garcia Fernandez
presented the
latest Oracle activities
in the Database Competence Centre. Amongst other
things, he covered Oracle VM, the monitoring
dashboard for the experiments monitoring and
Exadata testing.

Ryszard Jurga covered the updates
for the Networking Competence Centre.
The
CINBAD project is now turning into the
production stage with more and more new
facilities. The
slides and a specific piece of news (coming
soon) are
available for further information.

Andrzej Nowak covered the recent results in
the
Platform Competence Centre.
Amongst multiple other items, he
mentioned that the PCC
continues to actively participate in hardware
beta testing and in Xeon development. A
report is forthcoming.
In the afternoon, an executive session
focused on management and
communications aspects. In particular,
the
first issue of the newsletter was discussed as
well as future plans
for the coming year.
