Axel Busch

openlab technical student,  CERN technical student - 01.04.2009 - 30.09.2009

Bio as of his openlab time
Axel Busch entered openlab in April 2009 as a Technical Student. At CERN, he prepares his BSc. thesis for his computer science studies at the University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern/Germany. In the openlab, he evaluates the energy consumption, efficiency and performance of Intels Nehalem architecture using benchmarks as SPEC CPU2006 or applications like the CERNs ALICE framework. The evaluation of the performance gain that Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT) provides is also one of the major tasks.
