Security Activities in openlab-II (2006-2007)
In 2006, the openlab has launched initiatives in the field of computer security. Indeed, with the sharply increasing trend in IT security threats to major organizations, and to the internet as a whole, there were an urgent need to address the issue of Grid security and site security more holistically.
In this context, CERN is has been leading a two-year project focusing on
Integrated Site Security. The project called
ISSeG, is partially
funded by the European Union FP6 Programme. In addition to
CERN, two other scientific organizations,
CCLRC and
FZK
contribute to the project. This project ended in April 2008.
The two companies have been closely collaborating.
The Helsinki Institute of Physics (HIP) was instrumental in the setting-up of the collaboration. This project ended in December 2007. |
