Daniel Filipe Rodrigues,
openlab fellow working at CERN in the context of the EDS-CERN
collaboration on Grid monitoring, delivered a well attended talk
today at the EGEE’08 conference, entitled
“Grid Messaging system
as a core component of the monitoring infrastructure for WLCG”.
The presentation was part of the session called “HEP/LCG
community Meeting: World-wide Grid for HEP applications of LHC:
the monitoring procedure”.
Mr. Rodrigues
emphasized the novelty and attractiveness of messaging, an
essentially asynchronous mechanism provided with powerful
capabilities such as broadcasting, for the monitoring of the
WLCG. This talk was complemented by a poster which attracted the
attention of many participants.
In addition, at the beginning of the session, Mr. Pablo Saiz, in
his introductory talk, referred heavily to the well-known
Gridmap tool, another outcome of the EDS-CERN openlab
collaboration.
openlab results
in the field of Grid monitoring received therefore significant
exposure at the key annual international conference on
Scientific Grids.
