The
openlab student programme is an innovative
internship initiative of the CERN openlab. It is a
tri-partite undertaking which associates Universities,
the Industry and CERN.
It offers the
possibility for selected candidates to
spend two+ internships months at CERN, to work with CERN
experts on advanced information technology domains.
Students are usually under-graduates having obtained a BSc or
equivalent diploma. Students
from all nationalities may apply, provided
their home university
supports the application.
In addition
to being immersed in technical teams, participants
receive
training in all aspects of Grids and High Throughput computing
from CERN IT Department staff and take part in study tours to
regional IT centres of interest.
Willing openlab
industrial partners contribute to the funding of the programme
and the supported students work on the corresponding
technical activities.
