On March 16th, two PhD students and 12 industries were recognised for their outstanding contribution to the experiment
at the CMS Awards Ceremony. The Thesis Awards are given to
recent doctorates on the basis of their PhD thesis.
Dr. Ildefons Magrans de Abril, Institute for High Energy
Physics, Vienna, an openlab fellow since February 2009 working
on a Siemens project, was amongst the two PhD Students awarded
that day for his engineering thesis on 'The CMS Trigger
Supervisor: Control and Hardware Monitoring System of the CMS
Level-1 Trigger at CERN'.
